X-Rite Pantone Launches Spectura to Connect Colour Measurement from Lab to Production
5 Oct 2026 – X-Rite Pantone has launched Spectura, a new portable sphere spectrophotometer platform designed to connect colour measurement with quality workflows from the laboratory to the production floor.
The new platform combines advanced measurement capabilities, secure cloud connectivity and an expandable application framework, with the aim of helping manufacturers reduce colour errors, accelerate decision-making and maintain colour consistency across production environments.
According to X-Rite Pantone, manufacturers are increasingly managing colour across multiple sites, suppliers and different materials while working with tighter tolerances and shorter approval cycles. However, production measurements can still require manual data transfers before they can be reviewed, potentially slowing corrective action.
“Color quality can no longer be managed one instrument, facility, or supplier at a time,” said Ben Spiegel, Director of Product Management, X-Rite Pantone. “As manufacturing becomes more distributed, organizations need connected workflows that preserve the integrity of color data across every location where decisions are made. Spectura creates that foundation, helping teams reduce variability, respond faster, and improve consistency throughout the color program.

New Foundation for Connected Colour Quality
The Spectura platform integrates advanced optics, high-definition camera targeting, temperature-aware measurement, purpose-built accessories, secure cloud connectivity and NetProfiler integration.
X-Rite says the new architecture is also designed to provide strong inter-instrument agreement with its established handheld and benchtop systems. This is intended to maintain alignment between established colour standards and production measurements, reducing measurement variation across different instruments and locations. X-Rite
Secure cloud connectivity, powered by X-Rite Color iQC, brings colour and instrument-performance data directly into digital quality workflows, reducing the need for manual data transfers. Quality managers can review production results in real time, identify issues earlier, reduce rework and collaborate across locations and suppliers using a shared source of colour data.
Three models for different quality requirements
Spectura comprises three models:
- Spectura S60 for portable colour comparison
- Spectura S62 for everyday quality control
- Spectura S64 for tighter tolerances and agreement with Ci7800 benchtop spectrophotometers
The platform brings together instrument hardware, cloud services, NetProfiler and modular applications. X-Rite says this approach is intended to allow manufacturers to modernise colour-quality workflows while continuing to build on established standards and practices.
“The future of color quality control is defined by connected systems that make trusted data available wherever decisions are made,” said Spiegel. “Spectura helps manufacturers strengthen color quality today while preparing for evolving regulatory requirements, including CRA compliance.”
X-Rite Pantone will showcase the Spectura Series at FAKUMA 2026, taking place from 12–16 October in Friedrichshafen, Germany, in Hall B1, Stand 1307.
